Celebrate 1st National Latinx Physician Day
Join LPOC in celebrating the first National Latinx Physician Day on October 1, 2022 and support future Latinx physicians.
6% is not enough!
Did you know that only 6% of physicians are Latinx in the United States, despite the country being made up of 19% Latinx? California has an even higher Latinx population reaching 39% with further increases projected to 50% by the year 2050. There are significant health care barriers, inequalities, and poorer outcomes in the Latinx population. Having Latinxs better represented in medicine is necessary for our communities and for the future of medicine in the United States.
NLPD was initiated by concerned Latinx doctors worried about the future of medicine in the United States for our diverse patient populations.
