LATINX PHYSICIANS OF CALIFORNIA SUPPORTS NOMINATION OF DR. TOMÁS ARAGÓN AS DIRECTOR OF THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH
Sacramento, CA – On behalf of Latinx Physicians of California, the following is a statement from the LPOC Board of Directors:
“Tomás Aragón
Dr. Aragón has been one of our state’s leading health officers and is an ideal selection to help guide the health future of California. He is a thoughtful leader who helped to guide the City and County of San Francisco to adopt an early and aggressive response to the current pandemic, resulting in one of the lowest death rates of major cities in the U.S. He has always fought for our underserved communities and will place a strong focus on creating health equity across our diverse state. He has a great understanding of our health care system, and we are confident he will help guide the changes necessary to improve access to health care and the overall health of the residents of our state.
Our organization is proud to support this nomination, and we hope for a speedy Senate confirmation for this proven health leader.”
