Hello Friends of the UCSF Latinx Center of Excellence (LCOE),
LCOE staff members Francine Rios-Fetchko and Mariam Carson, Dr. Alicia Fernández were part of an NIH – CEAL study called STOP COVID. Led by Dr. Kevin Grumbach (UCSF Family and Community Medicine), they conducted a qualitative investigation from June to August 2021 into the perspectives of Black/African American, Latinx, and Samoan young adults ages 18-30 in the SF area on the COVID vaccines.
This effort resulted in a policy brief with recommendations for vaccine outreach to young adults which we are sharing with you. In addition, this group produced three other policy briefs based on focus groups conducted in January – March 2021 with African-American, Latinx, and Chinese adults in the Bay Area.
